The strategies
Three trading styles built from five strategies, from patient spot buying to active leveraged trading. Compare them, then open any one for more.
| Strategy | Market | Trade lasts | Activity | Risk | Max drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marlin | The most liquid coins | Hours | Often | High | -19.8% |
| Barracuda | The 40 most-traded perps | Hours to days | Often | High | -28.4% |
| Hagfish | Established alts, short only | About two days | Waits out alt bull markets | High | -36.0% |
| Manta | BTC | Weeks | Rarely | Medium | -29.8% |
| Spot accumulation | Spot, assets you choose | Months or longer | Rarely | Lower | -48.9% |
Max drawdown comes from the recorded backtests, with fees and slippage deducted. These results are hypothetical, not achieved with real capital, and past results do not promise future ones. Spot accumulation holds through market cycles, so it has no comparable figure.
Marlin, Barracuda and Hagfish run together as one style, Day Trading. You pick a style for an account, not a single strategy.
How to choose
Ask yourself two questions: how much of a fall can you sit through, and how active do you want your account to be.
-
You want to build a long-term position
Take Spot accumulation. It buys assets you pick when they are cheap and holds them.
-
You want market exposure with little activity
Take Manta. It follows the large BTC trend and trades rarely.
-
You want an active account and accept deeper swings
Take Day Trading. It trades many coins with leverage, and has the highest recorded growth and real falls along the way.
Try before you decide
Every strategy except spot accumulation runs on simulated money first, on real prices, with no key and no deposit. Plans and prices are on the Plans page.
