The strategies
Three trading styles built from five strategies, from patient spot buying to active leveraged trading. Here is how they differ and how to pick.
Styles and strategies
You pick a style for each account, and the style decides which strategies run on it.
| Style | Strategies | Market | Leverage | Typical hold | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spot Accumulate | Accum | Spot, assets you choose | None | Months | Investor and up |
| Swing Trading | Manta | BTC | Up to 2× | Weeks | Investor and up |
| Day Trading | Marlin, Barracuda, Hagfish | Liquid perpetual futures | Yes | Hours to days | Trader and up |
How to choose
Ask yourself two questions: how much of a fall can you sit through, and how active do you want your account to be.
-
You want to build a long-term position
Take Spot Accumulate. It buys assets you pick when they are cheap and holds them.
-
You want market exposure with less screen time
Take Swing Trading. It follows the large BTC trend, trades rarely, and can sit out or short.
-
You want an active account and accept deeper swings
Take Day Trading. It trades many coins and has the highest numbers on record, and the deepest falls.
Compare the numbers
The Backtest page and each strategy's article show the same recorded runs, with fees and slippage deducted. Compare max drawdown first: it is the fall you would have had to live through. Next look at win rate and profit factor, and treat the total return last, because large accounts cannot compound as far as a backtest can. The glossary explains each term.
What we do not publish
Each strategy's rules are our own work, so these articles describe what a strategy trades and how it behaves, not its formulas. To see what it does day by day, watch the live trades on the home page or run it on paper. On your own account the assistant can explain why any trade was opened or closed.
