Connect an exchange
Binance, Bybit, OKX, MEXC, Bitget or BingX, with an API key that can trade and cannot withdraw.
On this page
- A futures account holding USDT, $100 or more
- One-way position mode
- An account and key used only for Tarvis
- Withdrawal permission on the key
- A key already connected to another account
Use this account only for Tarvis. Orders on it that Tarvis did not place get cancelled, so keep any manual trading on a separate account.
Tarvis trades USDT perpetual futures on these exchanges. Accumulation and buy plans buy the coin itself, so they run only on Hyperliquid.
Connect in Tarvis
-
Open Accounts
Go to Accounts, press Connect account and choose your exchange.
-
Create the key
Follow the steps for your exchange below. The connect window shows our IP address to copy.
-
Paste it in
Paste the key and the secret, plus the passphrase on OKX and Bitget. Tarvis asks the exchange what the key may do before storing it.
-
Pick a strategy
Choose a strategy on the account and start it.
Create the key on your exchange
Binance
In API Management, create a key and turn on Enable Futures. Leave Enable Withdrawals off. Restrict access to our IP: without it Binance does not let the key trade.
Bybit
In API, create a system-generated key with Contract: Orders and Positions. Leave withdrawal off. Bind our IP: an unbound Bybit key stops working after 90 days. Switch USDT perpetuals to one-way mode.
OKX
In API keys, create a key with the Trade permission and write down the passphrase you choose. Leave Withdraw off and bind our IP. Set Position mode to one-way under trading settings.
MEXC
Complete KYC first: MEXC requires it for futures keys. In API Management, create a key with futures order placing and account read. Leave withdrawal off and bind our IP: an unbound MEXC key stops working after 90 days.
Bitget
In API Key Management, create a key with futures trading and write down the passphrase you choose. Leave withdrawal off and bind our IP. Set USDT-M futures to one-way position mode.
BingX
In API Management, create a key with Perpetual Futures trading. Leave withdrawal off and bind our IP. Set perpetual futures to one-way position mode.
How results can differ
We suggest starting on Hyperliquid: its key cannot withdraw by design, and the backtests were measured there.
The backtests were measured on Hyperliquid. Other exchanges charge their own fees and list their own coins, and a coin your exchange does not list is skipped, so results there can differ.
If the account shows a warning
When the exchange keeps refusing an account, its card shows exchange refusing with the exchange's own answer, and after half an hour you get an email. Stops already resting on the exchange stay there. The usual causes are an expired or deleted key, a changed IP binding, hedge mode, or not enough margin on the futures account.
